Privacy policy
# last updated: October 15, 2026 · applies to the fastasfsave Mac app and the fastasfsave Chrome extension
$ what the extension does
- It runs on the websites you visit so it can find the picture under your pointer when you ⌘-click (or ⌘ + right-click) it. It does nothing on a page until you do that.
- When you ⌘-click a picture, it downloads that picture — preferably the full-size original — from the site that hosts it, and hands it to the fastasfsave app running on your own Mac (at the local address 127.0.0.1). It never sends it anywhere else.
- If a picture can't be downloaded, it takes a screenshot of the visible tab and keeps only the part showing the picture you clicked. This also goes only to the app on your Mac.
- It stores one small internal setting in Chrome, used to keep the extension up to date with the app. It doesn't store your browsing history or anything about the pages you visit.
$ what the Mac app does
- It saves pictures into the folder you choose. Each file remembers the address it came from (visible in Finder → Get Info), on your Mac only.
- It keeps its settings on your Mac: your chosen and pinned folders, recent saves and preferences.
- With your permission it can read the pictures you select in Finder or Photos, and react to ⌘ + right-click (macOS Accessibility). It uses these only when you ask it to save something.
- Mood boards are created on your Mac and saved into your folder.
$ what we collect
Nothing. There are no accounts, no analytics, no crash reporting and no advertising. We don't sell, share or transfer any data — there is no data to share. Neither the app nor the extension contacts any server run by us.
$ other websites
When the extension downloads a picture, your browser requests it from the website that hosts it, just like when the page shows it to you. Those websites have their own privacy policies.
$ children
fastasfsave doesn't collect personal information from anyone, including children.
$ changes
If this policy changes, the new version will be posted on this page with a new date.
